When I was first learning about the Phase and how a practitioner should get an action plan and follow it in the Phase, I thought that the plan would take away the excitement of unpredictability that regular dreams have. But, like in real life, not everything always goes as planned…
Currently, the Sochi Olympics is being aired on television and I intensively watch the figure skating competition, so my plan for the Phase was to jump through the mirror, get into a skating rink, perform an Olympic skating routine and see how I feel winning the Olympics. If I had time, I would eat an apple after my skating, then do some flying without getting kicked out of the Phase (that’s what usually happens when I fly for a long time not focusing hard enough on maintaining the Phase state).
After being completely woken up by my neighbor’s loud music (probably because the U.S. lost bronze in hockey), I decided to go back to sleep with the determination to get into the Phase no matter what. I was laying in bed for a long time in a half-sleep state, not moving, concentrating on breathing, and doing phantom wiggling. I tried to separate a couple of times but ended up moving my real body (not deep enough in the sleep state). Eventually after what seemed like forever I was able to get into the Phase.
I stood in the middle of the yard near my old apartment building in Ukraine. Everything was really clear and sharp. I turn and see a tall woman attacking me! What does she want? I started to fight back but then remembered that this is the Phase and I am in control, so I just threw her away and she disappeared.
OK, now I need a mirror. I run to the building entrance and the doors are like mirrors. I jump through them but get into the building instead of the skating rink. I tried it several times but always ended up being inside the building. So, I guess no skating for me today…
I leave the building and run outside. The yard ends with a tall cliff and I can see a nice warm sea and a beach below. I guess it is time to practice flying. So, I jump and soar down to the beach while remembering to maintain the Phase state by touching my arms and tensing my brain. Suddenly I can hear the breathing of my physical body but I try not to think about it and it goes away.
All these tricks work and I am successfully landing on the beach. The depth of the Phase is very good. I get on my knees and touch the perfect yellow sand and warm water. I can see every grain of the sand and feel the warmth of the water. It is very nice and warm and also so real… Then I see a small fat white fish swimming in the water. I catch it with my bare hand and remember that there was a plan to eat an apple. But I have a fish in my hand, so I decided to taste it. Surprisingly it tastes OK, more like raw mussels we used to gather and eat when I was a child…
Once done with the fish, I stand up and see some people on the beach. I decide to walk toward them and wade up to my ankles in the warmth of the sea water…
So, the beach instead of skating rink and fish instead of an apple but I am still in a good mood and full of pleasant memories about today’s morning!
