Learning Direct Method

My current state of the Phase practice is that I can get pretty stable results with indirect techniques provided that:

  1. I am well rested.
  2. I am in a good, positive and stable mental state.
  3. I have a spare weekend to go to bed not later than 10pm, sleep for 7.5 hours (that’s the best time for me) and then have an entire quiet morning for trying.

The problem is that I can achieve such perfect conditions only once a week at best and lucid dreaming may or may not happen during the week, so that’s not enough practice tries for me to move on in my Phase research. So, I have been looking into and trying other options like falling asleep consciously and direct method.

Today I woke up completely, then decided to try the direct method. I lay down in bed and started exercising my sleep breathing and stopping internal dialog. After a while, there was a feeling that my body is getting into sleep but my consciousness is clear and as thoughtless as possible looking internally at my body and registering all its feelings. My limbs started to become numb and quiver more and more with increased intensity. I thought these are the vibrations I am looking for and tried to intensify them. They became quite intense, almost at the edge of being painful. Then there was a noise in my ears and inside my brain, like when you stay near the airplane but the noise was familiar; I had it before. The combination of noise and trembling was scary, a bit painful and almost unbearable but I knew that I have to keep pushing no matter what. Finally I was able to raise my right phantom hand and started to pull my phantom body out of my physical one. It was hard but once one part is out, the success is inevitable, so very quickly I am out of my physical body, in my room, jumping off my bed, running to the mirror and jumping through it to carry my plan of action…

Very excited about getting closer to mastering direct techniques and having more opportunities to experience the Phase!
