Bathing in Lightning

I like reading fictional books of fantasy or magic when life is intertwined with magical events and supernatural forces. It gives the imagination a push reminding us that there is something more besides the reality we perceive. As it turns out, such literature may be a good source for Phase ideas.

In one of my favorite books of this sort, the main hero is a demon living among real people. One of his favorite things to do is to fly up to the sky before a storm approaches, get inside a thundercloud, mix with charged particles and with unnatural speed fly down with the lightning. He then goes back and repeats the process again and again. For some reason I thought about this episode yesterday and decided to try it. So, the Phase plan was to carefully examine my body left lying in bed (never did that before) and try the lightning thing. I wrote down a plan and reread the detailed description of the activity in the book.

Looking at my body in bed, while in the Phase, turned out to be quite an experience. Instead of being mesmerized by seeing my body laying in bed, the second I turned to look at it, my body started to grab me and pull me back into it. It was quite a struggle between my body and I with grabbing and wrestling but I won out eventually. It looks like my body doesn’t want to let me go. Not just yet. Or it doesn’t want me to look at it laying helplessly in bed without a guiding entity.

Then it was time to head to the cloud. There is always a corridor before I see the ‘door’. I wonder what’s with me and corridors? I opened the door and I was on the balcony of a high-rise. It was dark and I could see the lights of a city below. I couldn’t jump out and just fly which is a sign of good depth of the Phase state. I stepped back and tried to jump and fly on the spot before heading out but couldn’t do that either. Strangely, I was absolutely sure I was in the Phase but the instincts were still on high alert.

Determined to get to the cloud, I went searching for another door. I soon found one and got outside. I was standing in a green meadow and it was easy to fly up from there. Flying up, I soon saw a dark cloud and sensed an approaching storm. I got inside the cloud. It felt as if I was in a fog and fog is bad for the Phase for it can lead to fault! I tried to maintain the Phase while feeling the sharp electrical charges prickling me from all sides but eventually they distracted me and I transitioned out of the Phase back into my body. So, the bathing in lightning is still ahead. Something to try the next time around.
